È¸»ç¼Ò°³   History of the SPRING LOADED HAND PROOFER

SPRING LOADED HAND PROOFER

In 1965, Horace Early was observing the use of an old-style hand proofer in the lab of Pollock Paper Company in Dallas, Texas, where he was employed as Director of Research and Development. He felt he could make a better hand proofer – one with a spring load rather than the manual tension adjustment that the other proofer had. He developed the first prototype and made a few for the technicians at the Pollock lab. The technicians at Pollock preferred the new design. At the time of his death in 1976, Horace held orders from other companies for the spring loaded hand proofer.

Following Horace¡¯s death, his son, Jud Early Sr. accepted responsibility for completing the orders at hand and developed production methods for efficient manufacture. The design has gone largely unchanged since the production methods were established. Out of a simple idea came a product which is now used by technicians in five continents.

In keeping with tradition, Jud Early Jr. will continue supplying quality products and service as he assumes the ownership of the business.
